Ladies and Gentlemen, I am forwarding to
you an email I received that had not been served on the rest of you. I also remind everyone that until motions to
associate are granted, legal counsel not licensed to practice in this matter are
not the attorneys of record in this matter and are not the proper persons to be
served. Who should be served at this
time remains the list found in the Amended Third Informational Statement. You may choose to add whomever you wish to
that list, but please do not forget the proper persons to be served. Even when motions to associate are granted,
local counsel remains involved in the matter.

Subject: Model Files
Susan
I want to update you on two issues involving
the model files.
First, we reviewed the Myers Model files and
found some missing. We compared the contents of the folder to their
description in the readme file: 2 models runs (zip files) are missing
from the folder, those are the steady-state run for Spring Valley and
the SNWA pumping 60 kaf with recovery run for Spring Valley. Also, we
compared the contents of the folder to the model descriptions in the reports:
One more model run is missing from the files, this run is SNWA
pumping 60 kaf transient
solution for Spring Valley ( described in Part C). This run is also not
listed in the readme file.
In summary, 3
model runs are missing for Spring Valley: 1) Steady-state run, 2) 60,000 afy
pumping transient solution and 3) 60,000 afy pumping with recovery. We
asked Simeon for these yesterday but we wanted to make sure you and Rick have
all 3 of these missing files as well.
Second, we also determined that we do not
have the version of the Groundwater Vistas software that Myers used to run the
Spring Valley model. The version Myers used is Groundwater Vistas,
Version 5. We have Version 4, which does not work with Myers files.
The currently available Groundwater Vistas is version 6, which should
work with his files. However, the cost of upgrading to or buying Version
6.0 could be as much as $2,950 per copy. Does DWR have/need this version
of the software? We would like to arrange for GBWN to provide this
software so we can run the Myers model properly.
